Storage and safe operation of high-pressure gas cylinders

(1) cylinders must be stored in a cool, dry room away from heat sources, and no open fire and exposure. Except for non combustible gases, they are not allowed to enter the experimental building. Gas cylinders in use should be fixed upright

(2) color of gas cylinders and valve rotation

in order to ensure safety, gas cylinders are marked with color, so as not to cause wrong or mixed loading of various gas cylinders. At the same time, in order not to confuse the accessories, various cylinders have different valve turns according to their different properties

(3) whether the storage of gas cylinders

can catch the downward trend of the industry ① gas cylinders should be stored in a ventilated and cool place, and should not be supercooled, overheated or sometimes cold and sometimes hot, which will deteriorate the cylinder materials. It should not be exposed to sunlight and all heat sources, because exposure to heat may weaken the strength of the bottle wall, expand the gas in the bottle, and rapidly increase the pressure. 2. ② there should be no reductive organic matter near the gas cylinder, such as cotton yarn and cotton cloth with oil stains. Do not cover it with plastic cloth and linoleum to avoid explosion

③ do not put it in the channel to avoid falling

④ unused gas cylinders should not be placed in the laboratory, but should be kept in a special warehouse

⑤ different gas cylinders cannot be mixed. Empty bottles and bottles containing gas should be stored separately

⑥ in the laboratory, do not put the gas cylinder upside down or lie down to prevent the compressed liquid from spraying out when opening the valve. It should be firmly upright and fixed to the wall or the edge of the experimental table. It is best to fix it with a fixing frame

⑦ when receiving the gas cylinder, use soap water to test whether the valve has air leakage. If there is air leakage, return it to the manufacturer, otherwise it will be dangerous

(4) handling of gas cylinders

cylinders should avoid knocking, impact and rolling. The valve is the most vulnerable part, which should be protected. Therefore, when handling gas cylinders, we should pay attention to the following rules:

① general provisions:

③ avoid using greasy hands, gloves and rags to contact and handle gas cylinders

④ before handling, remove all accessories connected to the gas cylinder, such as pressure regulator, rubber tube, etc
